Spencer Chadwick

Spencer ChadwickThey said I was crazy, a
man of seventy, marrying
a girl of thirty-five. They
said she was after my money.
Well, it was money I had,
and companionship I lacked. I
did not care that she was bought.
My long years in finance taught me
that everybody is bought
and sold, and everybody buys
and sells themselves. So I had
a few years with her and she got
all of my money after
I was gone. So what? It’s not as
if I can use any of
it here. And I’d rather she had
it than my lying children.
Whores are the only honest ones.
