Joel Addams Loxley

Joel Addams LoxleyI know it’s not
popular opinion,
and it flies in the face
of the myth of
America. But you
must admit that, being
born wealthy and
with needs fulfilled, I was
able to study the
intricacies
of public policy
and government and turn
myself into
an exemplary, true,
servant of the people.
Whereas my chief
rival Deke Stayn, on his
long climb through the ranks to
ascend to his
lofty heights, acquired
baggage and beholders,
creditors and
compromises. And yet
most would say he was the
better choice to
hold the power. But be
careful what leaders you
wish for. At least
the independently
wealthy can be stolid,
dispassionate
in their government. Their
bread’s already buttered.
