Donna Sageth

Donna SagethI was brought up to
believe that if something
was wrong, if something
was upsetting you, if
something was hurting
you, then you should not keep
quiet about it.
Repression, I was told,
only makes things worse.
Except, in the real world,
nobody wants to
hear it, nobody wants
to help, nobody
truly cares. And all you
end up with is an
advertisement for your
weakness, and other
people’s pity or scorn.
Thin-skinned, I failed at
becoming a stoic.
